Very happy with our two windows. The service was friendly and efficient. The product is amazing. Approximately half the price of replacing the entire window, yet it's as good at blocking sound as any other quality double glazing I've experienced. What surprised me the most is that the add-on hardware was so low-profile and sleek. I was expecting something boxy, but it's surprisingly low impact, so window covers are no problem.

I looked everywhere for a solution for my brother's flat. Traffic and neighbours very loud with a foyer echoing voices etc. Nearly went with a company who remove the windows and construct secondary panes in the exisiting which costs a lot, takes a few days and they do it on site. A friend recomended Paul and Sound Proof Glazing. His business never came up in any of my previous searches which is a real shame as he was fantastic and who we went with in the end. Gave the best quote, knows his stuff but best of all the flat is now like a vacuum seal for noise it is amazing how much traffic gets cut. Plus noise from near neighbours. Oh and the installation was so quick and clean and most polite. Highly recommend.

Paul at Sound Proof Glazing provided a super experienced and professional service right from the outset. He had all the answers to our many questions, backed by the quality of the product that was ultimately installed which looked great and eliminated some intrusive noises completely and muted other noises satisfactorily. Paul's endeavours to cater for our needs in all aspects were very impressive and appreciated. The pricing was competitive as well. Very happy overall!

Life changing product! I live right on one of the busiest, congested thoroughfares in Melbourne (three lanes of busy traffic, each way!) and the noise force me to wear earplugs at night, but my sleep was still severely impacted. I couldn't watch tv without the sound right up, and really barely think.. until Paul from Sound Proof Glazing. The first thing that impressed me was his sincerity and obvious knowledge in the area. It's secondary glazing, so the product doesn't impact the original construction, and I barely notice it at all. Even my balcony now has a secondary door, that's barely visible, non-intrusive, and blends into my interior. I really can't talk this up enough. Measured in 30 minutes. Installed less than 3 weeks later, such was done in half a day! Of course there is still noise but instead of feeling like I'm sitting on a motorway, it's a normal and expected dull hum. I finally sleep the night through and don't even think of the noise. It's barely a factor. A game-changer. And I'm thoroughly impressed, satisfied and grateful. Thanks Paul and team ❤️

Frequently asked questions

How much do door installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on whether the job is a simple adjustment, a standard internal or external door install, or work involving custom doors or frame modifications. Quotes commonly combine a call-out fee, hourly labour and materials, with after-hours or emergency work usually attracting higher rates. The live pricing shown on this page reflects current regional rates and the typical job bands for each type of work.
Do door installers charge call-out fees?
Many door installers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Call-out fees are common in the rate card, though they may sometimes be waived if substantial work proceeds; it’s worth confirming this when requesting a quote. After-hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates.
Do door installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Door installers generally need a contractor licence or registration in every Australian state and territory; in NSW the relevant authority is the Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for a valid state contractor licence or registration displayed on quotes and advertising, an ABN with active registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
