We recently had new Miglas Windows installed in our home, and the difference has been nothing short of transformative. Not only have they significantly elevated the overall aesthetics—bringing in more natural light and giving the house a cleaner, more modern look, but the performance improvements are even more impressive. Since the upgrade, we've noticed a dramatic decrease in our heating costs, and we rarely need to run our AC or have the fireplace running. The improved insulation and energy efficiency over the original single glazed units have made the indoor temperature far more stable and comfortable year-round. It's one of the best investments we've made for our home.

I purchase Miglas Windows in 2023 and they have been the best investment we have made. Upgrading from our single glazed traditional windows to a double glazed, thermally efficient window has seen our energy bills halve. We also live on a semi busy street and the reduction in sound transfer to our Master Bedroom has made huge improvements to our sleep. Miglas played a large part in the energy efficient upgrade journey and we have had many comments about the aesthetics of the timber internals.

We recently installed Miglas High Performance Windows in our home, and the difference has been remarkable. The combination of timber and aluminium provides both aesthetic appeal and long-lasting durability. We've noticed a significant improvement in insulation—our home stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter, which has also helped reduce our energy bills. The windows are easy to operate, seal perfectly, and look fantastic. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade to premium, energy-efficient windows.

We purchased Miglas double glazed windows on the recommendation of a friend to replace our 35 year old single glazed windows. Miglas offered a fairly unique combination of windows that are timber on the inside and powder coated aluminium on the outside. In addition, their windows were made to measure. These windows perfectly sum up “you get what you pay for”. There are plenty of cheaper double glazed windows, but in my opinion none better. From the moment we took delivery it was very clear what we had paid for, and they were worth every cent. They have a near perfect combination of aesthetics and maintenance free exterior finish. The company were fantastic to deal with, and they obviously take a great deal of pride in their product which is unsurpassed. I cannot recommend Miglas Windows too highly. Our thanks to Anatol, Debra, Connor, Mitch and the whole team at Miglas. John Bawden, Katoomba NSW. July, 2025

As a carpenter, I’ve worked with a lot of different window systems over the years, and Miglas is easily one of the best. The quality and precision of their frames make installation straightforward everything lines up cleanly, seals properly, and you can tell the materials are built to last. Clients love the look and performance, and from a tradesman’s point of view, they’re a pleasure to work with. The hybrid timber-aluminium design is solid, low-maintenance, and handles Australian conditions perfectly. If you’re after high-end windows that actually deliver on both form and function, Miglas is worth every cent. I’ll definitely keep recommending and using them on future jobs.

Door Installation costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do door installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on whether the job is a simple adjustment, a standard internal or external door install, or work involving custom doors or frame modifications. Quotes commonly combine a call-out fee, hourly labour and materials, with after-hours or emergency work usually attracting higher rates. The live pricing shown on this page reflects current regional rates and the typical job bands for each type of work.
Do door installers charge call-out fees?
Many door installers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Call-out fees are common in the rate card, though they may sometimes be waived if substantial work proceeds; it’s worth confirming this when requesting a quote. After-hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates.
Do door installers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Door installers generally need a contractor licence or registration in every Australian state and territory; in NSW the relevant authority is the Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for a valid state contractor licence or registration displayed on quotes and advertising, an ABN with active registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
