Jake and his crew did a fantastic job updating our laundry. Jake organised & co-ordinated all the various trades that were needed to complete the project in a timely manner. Highly recommend his work!

Jake came around and pulled up and replaced my old decking boards as they were old from the previous owner. His workmanship and organisation was very professional, always keeping me in the loop. When he discovered some rot beneath the deck, he was transparent about the additional cost if I was to replace it. In the end I did as his work to a high standard.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I first started following Jake after he offered his time on a public holiday to help locals in need with small fix-it jobs — single mums, older residents, anyone who needed a hand. That kind of community spirit really stood out. More recently, we asked Jake to replace and install new storeroom doors at our childcare centre to meet new child-safe standards. He was professional, understanding and quick to act once materials were ready. The work was done over a weekend — even into the evening — to make sure everything was safe and ready for the children’s return Monday morning. Couldn’t fault his communication, workmanship or care for the job. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.

I wasn’t lucky enough to be alive while Picasso was painting, but fortunately I am alive to see the unmatched work of BCC! A gift to the craft.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
