Raf was very professional from first contact. Returned my call, answered all my questions and made a time to inspect the work required very promptly. He is reliable, thorough, meticulous and reasonably priced. He arrived on time , delivered high quality work and cleaned up at the end of each day. I was very impressed with his service and work ethic. I would highly recommend anyone that requires a carpenter or handyman to use him. Definately a five star tradie!

I hired Raf for a large job replacing some framing and installing blueboard. I got a number of quotes and found his attention to detail was the best. It was a challenging job but he was excellent all the way through! His communication and commitment to quality is outstanding. If you’re looking for tradesman who cares, I’d certainly recommend Raf!

Raf was a pleasure to deal with, hard working, honest and fair in his pricing. He will be our first port of call for any future carpentry work. Absolutely recommend.

I hired RC Handyman to do some odd jobs at my apartment including hanging festoon lights on the balcony. He arrived exactly on time, did a great job; even suggested adding wire so the lights wouldn't hang down too much which looks great and left my place really tidy. I would definitely rehire and recommend.

I found RC Carpentry while searching for a local carpenter and I’m really glad I did. The communication with Raf was easy, he showed up right on time, was clean, polite and professional throughout. He went over the list of jobs I needed done, and even gave me clear guidance on tasks that were outside his scope, which I really appreciated.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
How do I get a quote from RC Carpentry?
