We have just moved into our new Brett Morris Home. This is the second home we have built with Brett, Christian and their amazing team. I could not recommend them more highly. Our house from start to move in ready only took 8 months and the process was seamless. The finishes on our home are faultless. I would also like to mention to Julian Simpson Kitchens for my dream kitchen and also the tiler who did an amazing job with our stone pillars, raised garden and tiling inside the house. Thank you again Wayne and I couldn’t be happier. If you are considering building a forever home Brett Morris Homes will meet all your expectations, I can assure you it will be the best decision you have ever made.

We have now built our second home with Brett Morris Homes and wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Brett and his team or recommended them to others. Brett, Kirstyn, Christian and all their trades are accommodating and easy to work with in all that we asked for. They are contactable, responsive and happy to make changes and adjustments along the way. Old school builders with values reflected in their product and a good laugh along the way. The benefits of a small, local and trusted builder are evident in the amazing house they have built. Would definitely recommend reaching out to Brett and his team.

Brett Morris Homes is a family owned company who I cannot recommend highly enough. Brett has built two homes for me over the past 20 years and the quality of the homes he builds is second to none. What I love about working with Brett, Kirstyn and Christian is that you can have open, honest and transparent conversations about the type of home you wish to build and nothing is too much effort for them. I love how they make any changes you want if possible. This is what is just one of the benefits of securing a small family builder rather than a big project builder. Kirstyn as the Business Manager is a fantastic communicator and answers emails at all hours of the day and night! Both of my homes were built within the time frame Brett had advised. Do yourself a favour check out Brett Morris Homes for your next build.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?

Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.

Do carpenters charge call-out fees?

Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
