Zac & Max completed a new deck for us, ripping out the existing deck and using modwood for the new space. Of course we had terrible weather, heaps of structural issues only to be realised once the old deck was pulled up and time away planned. Zac and Max had excellent communication prior to and during the job, keeping us up to date on their progress, how they planned to tackle the arising issues and ensuring the whole time the project stayed within our budget. Their pricing was fair and they gave us different options in price and selection of materials. Max & Zac worked at our home while we were away, they were so respectful and trustworthy. They made sure there wasn’t a scrap of rubbish leftover from the job. They were kind and friendly to our curious kids who watched on from inside as well. We are so happy with our new deck and felt so well supported during the whole job. It’s a pivotal feature of our home and probably where we spend the most time, so was really important to us it was done well. Highly recommend Max & Zac, they’re a great team and we’ll definitely be using them again on our next project. Thanks boys!

Wavelength Concepts have recently completed the construction of a large deck and balcony for my property at Terrigal. Zach's knowledge, workmanship and attention to detail cannot be faulted and I would recommend his services to anyone. The quality of the finished product is outstanding, and Zach worked through every option with me to ensure we selected the right materials, finishes and colours for the job. Zach is courteous, trustworthy and reliable and any variations or changes in scope were always discussed up-front. I can highly recommend Wavelength Concepts to anyone seeking professional carpentry services on the Central Coast. 10/10.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
How do I get a quote from Wavelength Concepts?
Wavelength Concepts lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
