I can highly recommend Chris from CGB Carpentry after just finishing some timber & building works incl window trims, balustrade, cladding, verandah fretwork/posts, moving a window, installing a new front door and more. Excellent attention to detail, high quality work, practical advice for overcoming challenges along the way, and open communication. Chris & Max were a delight to have on site.

Outstanding work by the CGB Carpentry team that far surpassed all our visions of what could be achieved. Chris's quote was both detailed and accurate. He provided many expert suggestions that we hadn’t considered. Chris was a pleasure to communicate with every step of the way. He and his team made the entire renovation process both enjoyable and stress-free. We’re absolutely thrilled by the complete re-build & transformation of our entire deck area. The stunning elevated pergola has significantly increased our outlook and also brought valued natural light inside our home. We shall entrust CGB to manage ALL our future home improvements!

Carpentry costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
Is CGB Carpentry licensed?
Yes. CGB Carpentry currently shows an active trade licence on SureQuote.
Does CGB Carpentry have a verified ABN?
Yes. CGB Carpentry has completed ABN verification on SureQuote.
How do I get a quote from CGB Carpentry?
CGB Carpentry lists phone or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
