Great service from start to finish. Josh was a great help when designing the finish of the stairs to match our existing floor. The installation was completed as scheduled and the team were very efficient and courteous, cleaning up on completion. No hesitation recommending CPR for bespoke staircases at a reasonable price.

Good experience. Callum actually arrived early and then continued to fit the new handrail. Did a professional job, cleaned up afterwards. Very pleased with result.

I recently had the pleasure of working with CPR, a family-owned business, for the installation of an internal staircase in my home. From the very beginning, Josh scheduled a measurement consultation to discuss my requirements and provided valuable insights and suggestions. The boys who handled the installation were truly exceptional. Their craftsmanship and dedication were exemplary, resulting in a stunningly beautiful staircase that surpassed my expectations. Their workmanship was top-notch, and it is clear that they take great pride in their craft. I was impressed me equally was the excellent communication provided by Nadene. I cannot recommend CPR highly enough. If you are in need of a staircase for your home, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to CPR. You will not be disappointed!

Couldn’t be happier, with the workmanship or the customer service. The stairs were part of a renovation & the difference they have made to the appearance & access to our property is remarkable.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?

Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.

Do carpenters charge call-out fees?

Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
