I wanted to share our experience working with Corey, as we were so impressed with his work on a recent and very challenging project. We engaged Corey to help us with a deck rectification that had some non-compliance issues and inaccuracies, from a previous build. It was a complex and stressful situation for us, and we weren’t sure how everything could be fixed without starting over. Corey proved to be a true professional. He was excellent at assessing the situation and finding creative solutions to work with what was already there, since tearing the entire deck apart wasn’t an option. His problem-solving ability was truly impressive. We worked collaboratively, and his communication was fantastic throughout the entire process. He was professional, friendly, and always upfront with us about the different options we had. We were also really impressed with his flexibility. While he provided a quote at the start, some things had to be further deconstructed as the job progressed, and he adapted seamlessly. Corey is a meticulous carpenter who doesn't take shortcuts; he made sure to do things the right way to achieve the best possible outcome for us. Finally, we appreciated his dedication to the project. He worked around difficult weather and even offered his time on weekends to ensure the job was completed efficiently. His positive attitude helped to take a lot of the stress out of the situation for us, and we are so happy with the finished deck. We engaged CJS under a cost plus arrangement to demolish and construct a new deck and replace the cladding around our house. Corey's honesty and proactive communication made this a very easy arrangement to manage. I couldn't fault anything in the work they did. Corey always contacted us when he had bespoke detail to deal with and made sure we were happy with the outcome before he proceeded. His estimates on timeframes were fairly accurate and if they ran into anything unexpected they always contacted us to let us know and provide an update on timeframes. The most enjoyable part of this project was seeing how the CJS crew interacted with each other, you can tell they really enjoy what they do and take pride in their work. Corey was professional from the outset and very pleasant to deal with. More importantly he did what he said he would do, when he said he'd do it, and was flexible when I needed him to be. Most importantly he took real care in his work and the bookshelves look great.
