Selby Design: Wardrobes and Cabinetry

Noel completed a built in wardrobe for us about 5 years ago and we were absolutely pleased with the result. Upon moving to a new apartment we wanted a barn door for a doorway but were faced with difficulty as there was no bulkhead and the size of the doorway would not fit an off the rack door. We then had the thought to contact Noel and see if he had any ideas... of course he did and we had no hesitation in getting him to custom make the barn door for us. We trusted Noel's expertise and let's say we were not disappointed! The end result surpassed our expectations and has become a feature in the room. The craftsmanship and quality is second to none. Installation by Noel and Clayton was also a breeze as they are easy to get along with and go the extra mile to make sure things are perfect. We recommend Noel and Clayton to anyone wanting something a bit extra special!

Father and son team Noel and Clayton of Selby Designs did a custom project at my small apartment. I’m more than happy to give them a big thumbs up for quality of workmanship, very reasonable cost, amenability, and reliability. And for being such top blokes. I acted on gut instinct when I found Noel on line and asked him to come in, quote and draw up some ideas. I wanted someone who would think outside the box. And I was keen to use a small Australian business if possible. Noel and Clayton were onsite for three weeks and at all times treated me with utmost respect. They had endless patience as my dream project turned into my own personal ‘Grand Designs’ replete with (my) mind changing, agonising over fixtures, random weekend texts and requests for variations. However nothing was too hard for them. They were happy to do anything I asked and to come up with better solutions - tactfully and providing options to suit my budget. And again - patient. I knew nothing about what a renovation involved! Like all the things they had to deal with as they went- weird kinks in the floors or ceiling, stuff behind stuff as stuff was ripped off, paint that had to be sandblasted off something; dodgy lighting provided by me; yet they always stayed cheerful, never complained and went above and beyond to make sure it all worked out. The final work outcome was a georgeous new custom built in and walk in wardrobe in my main bedroom with amazing features like sensor lighting, mirrors, pull out ironing board and dresser; gutted, old laundry removed and totally new custom made laundry including installation of white goods; custom cabinetry in bathroom; three handmade bifold doors built ground up (thanks Noel - I see you!) and installed. All of this on top of tramping up and down 4 flights of stairs each day. I feel I received great value and a quality product for money from a great local small business. Which is why I wrote such a long review.

We had a vision for our two walk-in robes to be one along with a new built in. Noel and Clayton from Shelby Design certainly made our vision come to fruition. Great design, a nice lighting choice and attention to detail.

Noel and Clayton provided 3x built in wardrobes and a closet. The finished product was excellent and my partner and I were so pleased we used Selby Design to supply and install the wardrobes and closet. I am compelled to say I would highly recommend Noel and Clayton if you are contemplating wardrobes or cabinetry, we had our work completed 2 years ago and everything looks and works the same as the day it was fitted quality hinges and draw slides and the materials standing up to rigorous use.
