Paul from Brisbane Pool Certifiers is worth 5 stars! He was quick in responding to a very last minute request for a pool certification. He was punctual, knowledgeable and his communication was excellent. He completed the inspection efficiently and we received the certification paperwork the same day (within a matter of hours). The fee was very reasonable and worth every cent. Would highly recommend Paul and Brisbane Pool Certifiers to anyone needing the service.

After trying for months to find answers online and by ringing people who I thought would have known the answers to my questions of what I needed to do to make our pool compliant, I finally found Brisbane Pool Certifiers. I paid Paul Cloughley to visit and do a pool consultation that resulted in me being given a detailed report with pics taken of my own pool and the barriers explaining EXACTLY what to do. WOH... my stress was gone! They also answered specific questions of what they wrote in the report so I could do ALL the work using a few trades people. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING ANYWHERE ELSE...110% professional

We needed a consultation on our future works in the pool area and Paul really helped to understand our next steps. He explained the regulation requirements, suggested the best layout, safety barriers locations and height and even material options which can help us save money. He sent us drawings and information which our builders can use for the renovation works. Now it is all clear and we can finally think about design options! Thanks so much!

Frequently asked questions

How much do building inspectors typically charge?

Costs vary depending on the type of inspection, property size, report detail and travel required. Many building inspectors charge an hourly rate plus a call-out fee, with higher rates for after-hours attendance. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes.

Do building inspectors charge call-out fees?

Yes — many building inspectors charge a call-out fee to attend and assess a property. That fee typically covers travel and the initial assessment and is separate from the hourly rate and any report costs. It's sensible to confirm any call-out or minimum charges when requesting quotes.

Do building inspectors need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building inspection and certifying work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed or registered building inspector or certifier under state and territory rules. In New South Wales the responsible authority is the NSW Building Commission (formerly NSW Fair Trading). Look for providers who display valid state registration, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
