We were thinking of renovating our Lorne beach house, but were unsure if we could afford it! Andy was recommended to us so we contacted him, to initially just discuss our concept. Without any commitment from us, Andy stepped us through and supported us with the whole planning and permit process. Once the plans were completed, Andy then priced the work and our initial fears were substantiated, we couldn't afford it! To this stage Andy had spent a considerable amount of time with us, but none of it had resulted in any work (or payment) for him. Rather than walk away Andy sat down with us and suggested a couple of ways we could make some significant savings, without compromising on the quality of the build. With Andy's suggestions on board the renovation was re-priced and came back within our budget. Andy and Luke, met with us to talk through the time lines and build process. They started when they said they would, consulted with us all the way, finished ahead of schedule and most importantly delivered a quality renovation within our budget. Personable, professional and men of their word! The whole experience for us was a positive one and now we get to enjoy some fantastic new spaces in our up-dated holiday house. If you want a professional team, highly skilled, communicative, very personable, attention to detail builder, GOC is it. We were initially given the option of GOC after our selected builder fell through. What a great find in GOC. Andy and Luke were great from the first meeting and helped with every aspect of the project. Ours was a major renovation with a level of detail required to preserve the "beach house" character we loved. Andy and Luke and the team delivered our perfect home in Lorne. Andy and Luke successfully undertook work on a rather complicated and significant excavation/ drive way , that other local builders were not prepared to consider . Despite the complicated nature ,the way that they planned , cordinated and executed the work was excellent with the result that the project was completed within budget and on time. The other factors that impressed me and made a big difference to the project was the pro active ,timely and open commuication , and the many constructive suggestions that greatly improved on the original concept. They also made suggestions that were outside of the scope of their work , that made the follow up landscapoing work much simpler and cost effective. Andy and Luke were a pleasure to work with and based on our experience would have no reservations in recommending Great Otway Constructions
