We have had the most enjoyable house building experience imaginable, nothing was a problem for any of the staff we dealt with, every staff member we had contact with answered emails promptly and effectively, and also answered phone calls or messages that were left effortlessly. You also have a very obliging and approachable Site Manager. We would certainly recommend Toro Homes to anyone building a home. Thank you for all your efforts, it is really appreciated, especially in this uncertain building market, you excelled and more than meet our expectations.

Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?

Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.

Do builders charge call-out fees?

Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.

Do builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.

Is Toro Homes Pty Ltd licensed?

Yes. Toro Homes Pty Ltd currently shows an active trade licence on SureQuote.
