Having my two bedroom Granny flat / cottage build was a total stress free exercise with these guys. All their tradies were so very respectfully and I felt, went out of their way to make sure I was happy with what they were doing. There was only one issue that I was not happy with and would change and that is they put the skirting boards on before my floor boards so now I have a additional skirting strip. I was away when this happened but overall a slight error. The admin and sales persons were extremely responsive to all my emails and really can't fault them. If they continue to treat heir customers the way they did me i'm sure they will have longeviety. A good company in today's world Thank you. Tamara Fredericks-Brand

Superior granny flats is an amazing company. I built a granny flat and their service and communication was professional and thorough. They also liaise well with subcontractors that can get involved as part of the project, like extra electrician job or fence installations. I recommend them all the time to anyone who's considering a second dwelling or granny flat. One friend is building one with Superior team and she is very satisfied with the progress. Cannot recommend enough! - Scarlett

Thank you superior granny flats for our beautiful granny flat. We are extremely pleased & very happy with the outcome. A very special thanks to Dale site Supervisor who went over & beyond to help us with minor alterations throughout the build. Also Brian was very helpful during the pre-build stages and all the tradies involved in the project were just awesome. The area was always left spotless everyday. Really hats off to you all . Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?

Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.

Do builders charge call-out fees?

Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.

Do builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.
