I had a great experience with Nikal construction, by far the best contractor I’ve ever worked with. Always amazing at getting things organised asap. Even post house completion he has always been willing to help with anything we’ve ever needed help with. My whole build experience start to finish was efficient and Bob always tried to find the most cost effective ways to do things which I appreciate. I don’t think I know anyone who’s had their house built as quick and with as little delays as ours, while still being done to a great standard.

Would highly recommend Nikal to anyone wanting to build! Super reasonable pricing wise compared to a lot of other companies out there. We had a big build on a difficult block and it was complete in less than 8 months - super efficient along the whole process! And finally the quality of work was amazing - we couldn’t be happier -10/10!! With everything we wanted, Bob helped us find the cheapest option available, whilst still maintaining the highest quality. Fantastic service!

From start to finish, our Nikal journey was nothing but exceptional! We have known Bob for many years now and are responsible for designing many of his beautiful homes that he has constructed throughout the years and his website gallery demonstrates this. The experience was unique, seeing our architectural idea start taking form. Working closely with Bob throughout each phase of construction a standard was set and was continually exceeded. His attention to detail and understanding of construction was exceptional. Communication and customer service were second to none. Thank you, Bob - Nikal for delivering an exceptional house and more importantly a sensational home.

I have never been to Australia. I watched a show called "Open Homes Australia", here in America, channel45.2 DABL in Dayton Ohio area, and Nikal Construction might have built one of the homes, on that program. The homes are very nice and beautiful though. Have a nice day.

Frequently asked questions

How much do builders typically charge?

Builder costs vary widely depending on the job type and complexity. Minor repairs are generally much less than extensions, small builds or structural alterations that need foundations, framing or specialist input. Most quotes include a call‑out fee plus labour and materials, and the page shows live pricing to help you compare options.

Do builders charge call-out fees?

Call‑out fees are common and typically cover travel and an initial inspection or assessment. This fee is usually separate from hourly labour and materials, and after‑hours or weekend attendance often attracts higher rates. Ask whether a call‑out or minimum charge applies when requesting quotes.

Do builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Building work generally needs to be carried out by a licensed builder in every state and territory, and NSW builders are regulated by NSW Fair Trading. Builders should be able to provide their state builder/contractor licence number and show appropriate insurances and ABN/GST registration. In Victoria, domestic building insurance is required above a state threshold for certain contracts.
