Guildsman Traditions

Kris did a few projects for us a while ago, including hardwood screening around the house, ceilings and insulation under the house, and recycled timber feature wall in the kitchen. We truly enjoyed working with Kris to co-design and transform our ‘under the house’ into a new space. The outcome was amazing and exceeded our expectations. A few years down the track, everything looks as new and we are enjoying the beauty of native Australian timber every day. I highly recommend the services, professionalism, organisation, honesty and genuine care of this talented man.

We engaged Kris for a renovation and build of our house in Pullenvale that covered an extension to the living area and patio, new kitchen, laundry, bathroom, powder room, new wooden floors and the build of a new 2 car garage. Everything has turned out fabulously and we couldn’t be happier with the finished work. The experience with Kris and his team over the 6 months was first class and the build quality is excellent. No stress, really well organized, skilled, knowledgeable, willing to consult and delivered early. The new woodwork features are a highlight with our new front entry spotted gum portico constructed using traditional carpentry skills, including an axe, a real feature and a sight to see. The trades were really well coordinated throughout and a pleasure to work with too and it shows in the finished product. Kris and the Guildsman Tradition team are proud of their work and they should be too.

We had Guildsman Traditions build us a carport and used Kris’ services from the initial planning stage all the way through to the final end build. He has excellent communication and project management, great attention to detail and dedication to making sure everything was done to a good quality standard. This meant we could trust him and all the trades he engaged the entire step of the way and resulted in a stress free project for us. The end product exceeded our expectations both in design and quality and has made the front of our house look better than before. We will not hesitate to recommend Kris to anyone and will continue to engage him for any future works we require.

Kris did a great job with our outdoor entertainment area. He is highly skilled with timber construction and the quality of the work is very good. Kris is a great communicator and skilled at project management, and pushed to get the project finished on time despite extra works and unforeseen issues that crop up in any modification/extension project. Kris approached all issues in a professional manner and were worked through quickly to get the job done. Some work was disruptive, and Kris managed that well by communicating well with neighbours.

Kris was recommended to me by a work colleague familiar with his great work. My project included a small 3 bed total home refurbishment and bathroom addition in Ipswich. I found Kris to be extremely easy to work with. Kris is well organised and documents what he is going to and stuck to timelines and always available if I needed to chat. I tried to make minimal changes, but he was happy to hear about some of the minor changes I wanted to make. Kris's own personal standards are very high and all the other contractors he works with have the same high level to detail as he. I was so impressed with the final outcome, that modernised my simple 1950's home to today's standards, whilst still keeping as many original features as possible. Kris's attention to detail meant, that even with major works to ceilings and walls, he retained the original cornice and art deco features I hoped to keep. I cannot speak more highly of Kris and his contractors and the work that was completed and recommend him to everyone I talk to about this project".

The GT team were very professional throughout the whole process. The guys work hard and did what they said they were going to do when they said would. They worked around our needs to maintain a tidy functioning house through the works – all were very respectful. Thanks! When the provided designs presented risks and/or issues, Kris worked with all the stakeholders to develop suitable solutions that gave a better result than the original design/specs. The admin and project payment aspects of the job went smoothly, including variations. It was evident early in the project that Kris and his team were responsible and trustworthy, which reduced the stress for all of us.
