My partner and I have just built our dream home with NJR and we couldn’t be happier! We had been planning this build for some time and after researching Canberra builders and reading many reviews, we went with NJR. We’re very glad we made that choice. Nick was happy to take on a project that wasn’t your standard house and was able to deliver. He has a great reputation for building quality homes within the industry and we heard about this reputation often when mentioning that we were building with NJR. Nick was awesome throughout the build process. He takes a lot of pride in his builds and has a very strong attention to detail. There were some bumps along the way, but Nick promptly worked through any issues and addressed everything professionally. NJR have a strong focus on quality and detail, and the end result speaks for itself. Our new family home is absolutely stunning, the finish is amazing!

We can’t recommend Nick highly enough. The entire building process, from design to completion, was smooth, fast and friendly. * Nick assisted in the design process. This meant that we could work to our budget from the very beginning, we could use Nick’s years of experience during the design stage and the design process was streamlined because we didn’t need to have multiple amendments to the plans. * Nick was open and transparent about the costs and processes involved at all stages. Our build came in under budget and on time. * As NJR Homes in a smaller building company the timeframe for completion was much shorter than larger project builders. * We had a number of issues come up during the build (none of them related to NJR Homes). Nick went above and beyond to rectify these issues for us (even though he could easily have said “Not my problem”) in a timely, professional and assertive manner. * The quality of the build finish is great. Nick was also happy to give professional advice on colour choices, interior fittings etc. * Most importantly, Nick was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was always courteous, approachable and professional.

We would 100% recommend Nick and NJR as a preferred builder. Nick is true customer-oriented builder, providing excellent service and support throughout our build. Even before engaging Nick as our builder, we were caught a sticky position with another builder. True to his professionalism, Nick helped us out of this situation at no mind to himself, allowing us to set up to engage the market. Upon quoting, Nick was very competitive and his previous professionalism set him apart from the rest. Nick and the NJR team: • Broke the whole build process down for us into easily understandable phases. • Was open and transparent about the process, costs and requirements. • Worked to our timelines getting us into the house ahead of schedule, allowing us to be settled in before our second child arrived. • We only experience a few issues in the build and Nick was quick to resolve these issues. • Was very responsive to our questions and concerns, responding to all of our calling, texts and emails at every stage of the process. • Made us feel that our home build was the most important build happening. • Gave us good advice, perspectives and inputs based upon his many years of building. • Was a pleasure to work with being open, transparent and professional. NJR Homes over delivered during a few Covid compromised years. We have our dream home thanks to Nick and his personal investment in our dream. With escalating building costs due to covid, Nick and the team didn't try to cash in and was true to his word when things got more costly. Nick is a builder who takes you through all the nuances of contacts, keeps you informed, and has uncompromising standards for all of his trades. The one thing I would recommend for future clients is do your research on engineers, ours added time and delay. We got there but was very stressful having to follow them up. I would have preferred to have Nick's advice first. Every other trade we used, as recommend by Nick, was top notch and took our needs seriously. The final walkthrough showed Nick's high standards. Would absolutely recommend. Edit: For anyone looking for after care follow up, we messaged Nick with a question regarding a design flaw, not a build issue, (a whole 9 months later), and were absolutely grateful Nick sent his trades out to help us fix it. It wasn't a building defect, just having cold air blow on a pipe. We honestly didn't expect Nick to go the extra mile as he didn't need to, but he did, and it shows how he cares about his builds and the quality and comfort of his clients.

Nick recently completed our new family home in Canberra's inner north. The result is a high quality custom home, delivered in just 7 months and within budget. We are very happy with our new home, and would build with Nick again. In summary, our experience with NJR: 1) Communication - You can always contact Nick. If you have a question or concern, you won't be left waiting for a reply. Nick often responds immediately. Nick communicates frequently. You will be aware of your build progress. 2) Quality - honestly, the quality is high. I am picky, and yeah I still find a few small faults... but I have high expectations. I met many of the trades, and nearly all were excellent. The outstanding ones were the carpenters, tilers, bricklayers, caulker, electrician and kitchen suppliers. Thoughtful and delivering high quality work. The finish is high, and there are no significant maintenance requirements. 3) Time - Our house was completed in 7 months. Nick's projecting timeline is tight and efficient, it definitely helps if you have your inclusions and selections made ahead of schedule. Importantly, at no point did we feel quality was being compromised to be within timeline. 4) Budget - Our build came in on budget. We did a lot of work up front to specify details for the build and integrated this into the quote/contract. I had a definite idea on what I wanted, and this resulted in some budget certainty. Nick is very transparent and honest in passing through costs. His trades are on the expensive side, and this means you can be surprised by the cost of variations as you add small things during the build. Nick also only works with his preferred trades, so you will not have alternate quotes for variations. 5) Flexibility - Nick works hard to satisfy his customers. However, he strongly prioritizes delivery timeline and ensuring quality with his preferred trades. This means that Nick is hesitant to deviate from mainstream materials, finishes, and his known trades and suppliers. This is a pro and a con. If you want a quality home on-time, this is a benefit. If you really want something different, you can have it, but it means that it requires more work to get there, and you take on some risk. In an industry which has it's fair share of horror stories, Nick is an honest and reliable option. His name (NJR) is on the business. Nick is very attentive post hand-over with any maintenance or touch-ups were quickly addressed. I have confidence we have his long-term support. Overall, Nick's strengths are building high quality homes, delivered on-time, with consistent communication throughout, and strong post-handover support. This is what we valued and appreciated through our partnership with him and NJR homes.

Building is known as such a daunting process as you hear all sorts of horror stories. We chose to build as the last option and we must say, if we had known what building with Nick would be like, we wouldn’t have hesitated for a second to chose to build. We knew we made the correct decision to go with NJR, not from just the references from clients, but also the positive comments from tradesman and others within the field. From the offset he has been great. He dealt with a few stressful events on our behalf, one of those moments came when we had illegal dumping happen on our block, Nick found who it was and made them remove it – simply amazing. You want a builder that’s informative, knowledgeable and communicates well and that’s exactly what Nick is. He made the process less stressful by providing helpful advice and always thought outside the box when issues arose. He was always only 1 call away, ensuring that we were always kept informed and available for us when we had any questions. He was extremely transparent and provided us with copies of invoices. Even after completion Nick remains in contact with us to ensure there are no issues. All of Nicks tradesman were great! The only thing we didn’t use that was referred to by Nick, was the engineer. Our choice to go with a different engineer was a pivotal mistake. It resulted in more than a 3-month delay and a huge amount of stress. If you just stick with whom Nick recommends, you will be guaranteed a much smoother experience. It really seems rare to have a good building experience especially in this day and age – but it’s possible and we’ve gone through it thanks to Nick & his team. We now have a wonderfully built home that we can enjoy for many years to come. That being said, we would still love to have Nick build us our next home! We cannot recommend him enough – thank you Nick for all your work, it has been a pleasure working with you.
