  Rob did a fantastic job of rebuilding or chimney, patching sections of our walls and repairing a rendered archway. He was very knowledgeable and has a good attention to detail. All work was finished to an incredibly high standard, and the new sections match the original incredibly well. Rob was lovely to work with and very understanding of other trades happening on site at the same time. We would definitely recommend him to others and will use him again if we need to!

  Rob is a very professional and considerate tradesperson. He was able to rectify our damp and aeration issue in the cellar of our old house. He had great ideas to solve the issue that the other tradespeople were not able to come up with. He is thoughtful and detail minded with looking after old homes and the various quirks they have! He was pleasant to have in our home for works and left it tidy after he had finished. We would choose him again and recommend to others.

  Robert did a great job repairing our chimneys, both repointing externally and undersetting salt damp affected bricks internally. He also stitched and repaired a significant crack down the side of the house. The quality of the pointing is fantastic and the repaired sections match the original seamlessly.

  Robert Elphick (Set In Stone) did a fantastic job on a large conservation/ restoration on the bluestone facade of our symmetrical cottage (built1885) in the Unley Council Conservation Zone [Goodwood compact]. We love the outcome and have had many visitors admiring his work. Robert is a very skilled in his work & easy to deal with while doing the conservation on our house. We chose him for the conservation/ restoration of our bluestone and repointing, because I was impressed by his website & the restoration of a restored bluestone house nearby. And a bonus was his quotation was very reasonable. We had a Council Heritage grant (pending final onsite inspection), & following inspection their Heritage Architect advisor emailed "I inspected the works and all appeared to be of a high quality and a good result". Robert Elphick is a talented craftsman and was a pleasant person to have on our property during the fairly large job (20 meters of bluestone (front & one side of our house).

  Robert restored the stone work on our property that is dated 1874, which included replacing broken and missing stone. The quality of Robert’s work is outstanding and far exceeded our expectations. Halfway through the job, we uncovered an unexpected door that had been badly covered up. Robert was able to blend it into the existing stone work and was not phased by the issue. Robert was reliable, tidy on site, and easy to work with.
