T. Wrafter & Sons

We recently lost my Mum and needed engraving and her picture on the head stone beside Dad who we lost several years ago. We also decided to have the lettering on my grandparent's graves refreshed though after over 20 and 30 years were still in pretty good nick. Wrafter and Sons had done all previous work so it was logical to contact them first for a quote to do all three graves. Once contact was established, the quote was quickly sent and due to the service received, accepted the quote, paid the deposit and got things underway. While it took some time for all work to be completed, it was well worth the wait. The quality of the work was incredible, and we could not be more pleased. The staff at Wrafters were tremendous to deal with, very efficient and respectful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Special mention to Kim, Leanne and Bridget. Thank you so much. I cannot recommend Wrafter's too highly.

Having had T Wrafter & Sons as the original stonemasons for my parent's headstone over the past 25 years, they were the only company I would trust to update their memorial to a beautiful bronze plaque. Not living locally, I felt very reassured they would take care of everything on my behalf. Communication was always prompt and professional, and the finished plaque exceeded my expectations. We recently had my parents 40-year-old monument restored and my mother’s side completed. The T Wrafter & Sons were the original stonemasons and were professional and respectful. The workmanship is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Thank you for helping us honour their memory in such a special way.

Wrafter repaired a granite kitchen benchtop, which had two large sections broken off. The result exceeded my expectations, super work! If you didn't know it had been broken you never would suspect it, and even knowing where to look it's far from obvious. Brilliant! The granite is 1820 x 900mm, and 30mm thick. The first photo shows the whole thing as-broken, but upside down (it weighs about 160kg so I wasn't going to turn it for the shot! I had removed it from the bench and was removing the old glue from the underside). The second shows the join between the two pieces that had broken off. The last shows the repair. The break runs through the section nearest to the camera. Wrafter pinned the fracture faces, and ran additional bars under to assure the integrity of the finished piece. I might add: I made up a 30mm marine-ply backing piece to support this, so it shouldn't happen again. Originally, the granite overhung 300mm along the long edge, and 400mm on the end, and it was, frankly, ridiculous that the kitchen designer and original mason built it without support. I molly-coddled it for almost 10 years, then a young lad, sitting at the overhung corner, just pushed down on it to help him stand up, and it broke off.
