Jack and he’s team did an amazing job. This is the second time they trimmed the trees for us. I’d highly recommend them. Climbing 18 L to prune overhanging branches to protect the neighbours in general cleaned up without any troubles and were very professional. Also gave some good advice about how to look for dead parts in the tree. Would highly recommend them to anybody who needs a good arborist. I will be calling Jacks team back when the trees need another groom or haircut to maintain the foliage

I wholeheartedly recommend TreeLife. Excellent communication from the start, and a knowledgeable, professional and polite team who clearly respect trees. My property was left tidy after their work was complete. Witnessing the two way respect between their apprentice and mentor was also impressive. Nice to see these days! Thanks TreeLife!

I have been using Treelife to keep my trees and vines healthy for many years now. They do an excellent job of pruning and shaping trees and offer sensible and knowledgeable advice about future maintenance. They are interested in helping you keep your nice green corner of the world:) This visit, Sept 2023, Treelife tackled my approx 50 year old kiwifruit vines which had got totally out of control with all the rain and warmish weather we have had over the last couple of years. They also pruned some of my other trees. At the end the arborists chipped all the prunings which I asked to be left behind to mulch the garden. And the crows were watching ... within 5 minutes of the chippings being poured out of the truck, the crows were there to collect nesting material!! I highly recommend Treelife and their arborists. Note added, Aug 2025. Another job really well done on a really windy and overcaste day. Note added, Oct 2025. Another job quickly and efficiently done :)

Jack, your team did an excellent job, very professional, hard working and well mannered. See you next year in July, for a quote to prune again. Regards Russel

Having watched our very large Pyrus tree grow more and more unwieldy, it was great to get advice from someone who really understands trees and knew what to do. Jack and the team have done a wonderful job of reducing and shaping the tree and left everything neat and tidy. Would highly recommend them.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
How do I get a quote from Treelife?
