My introduction with Joe was reassuring and visionary, he had my confidence immediately. Joe presented in a professional manner and was polite, friendly and a pleasure to have around. Sam his support man was also helpful and good at what he did. This was part I of my project and I will always use Joe in the future. The price was reasonable, attention to detail amazing. Recommend Joe and the team to anyone who is expecting 1st class work. Here is an example.

We had a big and beautiful gum tree right on our driveway that had some huge limbs that seemed to be dangerous. We contacted Joe and were hopeful that with the removal of some of the limbs we would be able to keep the tree. Joe came out and assessed the tree and unfortunately it was in very bad health and would be dangerous to keep. Joe provided a very competitive quote for the removal of the tree - this included cutting the burnable limbs into manageable chunks for us to cut into firewood and the mulch generated from the smaller limbs and foliage. Joe and Sam came out and proceeded to remove the tree. Their attention to detail and follow up has been outstanding. Apart from the woodpile, mulch and the stump, you would not know anything had taken place. All debris was removed from the driveway, so we were able to use it normally. I would recommend Joe's services wholeheartedly. He not only does a fantastic job, but he is a great guy as well. Thanks Joe!

The team did an incredible job catering to our needs and our only wish is that we would’ve done it sooner!! Site was left spotless and care was taken through the process. Highly recommend!!!

Joe removed two large trees from the front yard of our property. The site was left immaculately. We're very impressed and wouldn’t hesitate recommending his work to anyone.

Arborist costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
