I had Mat and his crew shape and cut back 5 trees for me at Grasmere (2570). The trees had not been pruned for nearly 20 years and were severely overgrown. Our yard was left absolutely spotless after they finished. Mat is a very respectful individual and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He listens to what you want but is also happy to make recommendations. I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Complete Tree Worx and will be using them again in the future.

Absolutely delighted by the work the crew did - sorted out years of neglect in the space of a morning. Removed a massive tree and cleared heaps of shrubs. Price was quite fair too.

I contacted them to cut down around 7/8 trees in my newly bought property. Trees at backyards were so hard to grind, was almost impossible due to fence. They did really great job. They had to visit my property couple of times as grinding was not possible at very first visit. But they kept contact with me, didn’t left till the job done properly., honestly, with my limited budget I got the best service. I’m happy, strongly recommend them for tree removal services. They are best.

Frequently asked questions

How much do arborists typically charge?
Arborist costs vary widely depending on the type and scale of work. Factors such as tree size and species, site access, whether removal and stump grinding are needed, required equipment and disposal all affect the total. Most quotes separate a call-out component from labour and materials, and after-hours or emergency jobs generally attract higher rates. The live pricing on this page shows current estimates for different job types.
Do arborists charge call-out fees?
Many arborists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. That fee typically covers travel and the initial site inspection, and smaller or remote jobs may be subject to a minimum charge. It's worth confirming whether a call-out fee is included in any quote you receive.
When do arborists need a licence?
Arborists often need registration or specific contractor credentials for higher-risk, large-scale or regulated tree work. Where the scope overlaps with regulated building or contractor work, providers should hold a valid state contractor or builder credential and comply with local council permit requirements for protected trees. For higher‑risk tasks, look for evidence of public liability insurance, documented work-at-heights controls and SWMS.
