Highly recommend Murray from Northside. He was very helpful and friendly, and able to install a new pump within 24 hours of me calling.

My 9 year old Viron Pool Pump started making a terrible loud noise. Was looking at a $1600 replacement cost but found Northside. They quoted $240 + GST to replace bearings and seals. I dropped it off in the morning and they had it ready that afternoon. Pump is now whisper quiet again. The video is before they repaired it. Would give them 6 stars. Thank you very much.

Northside replaced the seal and bearing in my 4 yo Hayward Super Pump which has now seen it return to the quite smooth running leak free pump it previously was as new. They were busy but finished same within a few days at $264 Gst Incl. (I had disconnected same and dropped off and collected myself which is not difficult and makes the repair cost quite reasonable). Northside suggested this type of repair was their bread and butter and I should now probably get a further 6-7 years of useful life out of it. Good value when you consider that new ones are now retailing fitted, currently not available though, at around $900.

Excellent experience. Super easy to deal with and trust worthy guys. Quotes came out cheaper than the others too. Highly recommend. Dropped off during work hours and they offer after hours pickup too.

Frequently asked questions

How much do pool technicians typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its complexity and whether parts or full equipment replacements are required. Call-out fees, diagnostic time and after‑hours attendance often increase the total. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes for your specific job.
Do pool technicians charge call-out fees?
Many pool technicians charge a call-out fee to attend and carry out an initial diagnosis, which is usually separate from hourly labour and parts. After‑hours or emergency visits often attract higher rates. Check the live pricing shown on the page and confirm any call-out or minimum fees when getting quotes.
When do pool technicians need a licence?
Registration or a contractor licence is required in some states, with NSW, QLD and SA commonly requiring a current state contractor licence that can be verified on the public register. Whether a licence is needed often depends on the scope of work, so it's wise to ask for licence details and proof of insurance for larger installations or contractor-level work. Industry memberships and qualifications such as SPASA membership and Certificate III or IV in Swimming Pool and Spa Service are common indicators of experience.
