Last weekend I had the misfortune of having a blocked toilet. After a quick google I saw great reviews for Plumbcore & Blockages who are based in the Glenroy area. I rang and spoke with Sam who was getting ready to go out with his family but said he would come straight around to sort out the blockage. Sam was friendly and thorough in checking the problem and it was quickly resolved. I can highly recommend the service provided by Sam from Plumbcore & Blockages :)

We had an emergency blockage of our sewer pipes on a Sunday morning of all mornings - gave Sam from plumbcore a call and he was over within half an hour. Completely unblocked all of our pipes and was so thorough with the inspection and diagnosing the issue. Very reasonable fee and very efficient- on top of that such an honest and lovely person!

Sam worked on a plumbing issue at our home a few years ago. He communicated well and was very professional. He resolved the reported issue quickly and another issue he noticed by fixing the existing fixture (when most other plumbers would have asked for the unit to be replaced). Today, I texted Sam about another issue and he walked me through on the phone how to fix it as it's a minor fix and would've cost me a lot more to get him out - what a legend! I've found Sam to be a skilled and ethical plumber. Recommend!

Great experience with Sam. He was very responsive to our request. He was helpful in explaining the problem and possible solutions. We'd definitely hire him again for any issues around the house.

Frequently asked questions

How much do plumbers typically charge?
Plumbing costs vary significantly depending on the type of job and its complexity. Simple fixture repairs are generally much less than jobs involving pipe replacement, excavation or gas appliance work. Most quotes include a call-out fee, hourly labour and parts, with after-hours or emergency attendance usually attracting higher rates. This page shows live pricing for jobs in your area.
Do plumbers charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and are often used to cover travel and the initial assessment. Plumbers typically add hourly labour and any materials or replacement parts to the call-out fee. After-hours, weekend or emergency attendances are usually charged at higher rates and some small jobs may have a minimum charge.
Do plumbers need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Plumbing work must be carried out by a licensed plumber in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW the regulator is NSW Fair Trading (Building Commission NSW). Plumbers will generally provide their licence number and should be able to supply compliance certificates for regulated work. Look for an ABN, public liability insurance and relevant industry memberships as additional trust signals.
