We’ve just had Kate from Bugs & Building come and do a pest spray and a termite inspection this morning at our place. If you have kids, pets or live near the bush and want to keep the bugs, spiders and general creepy crawlies away I highly recommend them! Happy to support a small family business in our community after meeting Kate and Paul at the Alfords Point Spring Fete.

We first called Bugs and Building last year to get a pest spray. Kate was punctual, gave outstanding service and was very professional. We decided to use them again for a roofing matter and was just as impresssed with the quality of work as the first time. Paul identified the problem, set about fixing it all whilst being very knowledgeable, capable and also reasonably priced. Can highly recommend this team if you require and pest or building work, you will not be disappointed.

Frequently asked questions

How much do pest controllers typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the pest type, how extensive the infestation is, property access and whether follow-up visits are needed. Most pest controllers charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with materials and repeat treatments adding to the total. The prices shown on this page update live to help you compare current rates.

Do pest controllers charge call-out fees?

Many pest controllers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess your property, which is usually separate from labour and materials. After-hours, weekend or emergency attendance often attracts higher rates. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.

Do pest controllers need a licence in Australia?

Yes. Pest control work generally must be carried out by a licensed pest controller in every Australian state and territory, and in NSW licensing is administered by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW). Providers should display a valid state pest management licence and often hold industry credentials such as AEPMA membership or PestCert accreditation, public liability insurance and an ABN with GST registration. Many also provide a written service report and chemical usage log after treatment.
