Shaun and his team offer an exceptional painting service. He is meticulous, personable, and his attention to detail were over and beyond my expectations. He not only does an amazing painting job, but he also drywalls, does wallpapering, installs new cabinetry, and he's a licensed electrician. He's a true jack of all trades. He has decades of experience and his services are very reasonably priced considering the effort that he dedicates to each job. He has transformed my kitchen and lounge from the 1970s to a more modern style in a timely manner. I would highly recommend him and his team to complete any painting or renovations.

We had the notorious vinyl wrap, peeling and cracking, making our kitchen look terrible. I contacted Shaun with pics of what we were dealing with and asked for a quote for resufacing with 2Pac. He got back promptly with a competitive quote, which I appreciated (after others saying they'd have to do a visit prior to quoting or claiming bevelled pieces may mean a higher price) Aside from being very easy to work with, Shaun's team was very thorough in their workmanship. They matched the colour perfectly, even getting the texture to mimic the feel of the rest of the kitchen. The attention to detail was impressive. Not only was the paint job done meticulously well, but they also fixed a dodgy draw, replaced the corner cupboard door rollers (a 20 min round trip to Bunnings after seeing ours were missing), and finished with a methodical wipe down of all surfaces. The entire kitchen looks so AMAZING! We are so pleased with the result and would highly recommend Shaun and the team. Thanks again!

Frequently asked questions

How much do painters typically charge?
Painting costs depend on the size of the job, the condition of existing surfaces, and whether the work is interior, exterior or both. Jobs requiring significant preparation such as sanding, filling or priming will generally cost more than a straightforward repaint over sound surfaces. Most painters quote per square metre or per room, with exterior work and multi-storey access typically attracting higher rates. This page shows live pricing for jobs in your area.
Do painters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. In most Australian states and territories, painters carrying out domestic work above a certain value must hold a trade-specific licence or registration. Licensing requirements and thresholds vary by jurisdiction — for example, NSW requires a Contractor Licence for painting work. A licensed painter should be able to provide their licence number on request, and you can verify it with your state's building authority.
How should I prepare my home before painters arrive?
Most painters will handle masking, drop sheets and surface preparation as part of the job, but clearing the area of furniture, wall hangings and fragile items beforehand helps the job run smoothly and may reduce your quote. For exterior work, ensure the painter has clear access to all walls and that garden beds or outdoor furniture are moved back. Discuss any specific concerns like lead paint, mould or moisture damage before work begins so the painter can plan accordingly.
