Premium Painting and Plastering

I contacted Will after reading the great reviews he received and although my project was larger than he could do he still sought to help put me in touch with plasterers he knew and could endorse. Of the two contacts he recommended one was booked out a couple months (yet spent time on the phone to help me with a few things) and the other was Steve Xu who ended up getting the work due to his competitive pricing and his excellent commitment to the consultation, his workability with the things I could do to reduce friction, save his team time and save me unnecessary expense. This included Steve advising me on the prep I could and wanted to do, what plaster to leave instead of removing which he could work with to ensure a good finish, and what was best removed. After speaking to both Will and Steve I could see why Will receives the good reviews they do (Steve doesn't have a Google presence yet but Will's review of him was spot on). Steve was onsite everyday managing a team of four other guys and completed a 40+ year old two bedroom flat with 2.4m ceilings in square-set within three days. He quickly identified alignment issues, provided solutions and performed some carpentry fine tuning (typically adding in support for sheets) to ensure the best outcome possible. This project had a mix of standard 10mm gypsum board, Soundstop, Wetstop and 6mm Villaboard and Steve and his team said no problem — the extra weight and complexity was no problem. Anyway, even though this is Will's Google presence I felt obliged to say thank you to him for great advice and his recommendations. I had spoken to about five plasterers prior and called and texted more who didn't call back. Good trades are transparent, communicate well, educate and advise within the context of the customer's scope and desired outcome (especially taking into account customer questions about quality and options vs cost) and are committed to the outcome as well as the work required to get there. Thanks Will and Steve Xu 👍 My advice to home owners is do the required due diligence and don't just rely on what the builder recommends without talking to specialists who are also great consultants.
