Chevron Painters

We engaged Chevron Painters for a full interior and exterior paint job, with an agreed two-week timeframe. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. After only a base coat was applied, work came to a complete stop. Despite multiple attempts to contact the painter, Harry, there was no response for several days. By the time 2 weeks was over, only a small portion of the work had been completed, despite partial payment having already been made. The workmanship has been substandard, with uneven finishes and inadequate surface preparation evident in several areas. Communication throughout the project has been poor and unprofessional. The lack of response left us with unfinished work, uncertainty, and unnecessary delays and financial loss. We were forced to issue a formal notice requesting an explanation and a revised schedule; however, there has been no meaningful follow-up. Not even a courtesy call or message was provided to explain the sudden halt in works. Given the business’s claims of professionalism, reliability, and timely completion, the reality fell well short of expectations. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Chevron Painters. Poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and complete disregard for agreed timelines made this one of the most frustrating trades we encountered during our build. The suggestion that multiple painters had started and abandoned the project prior to their engagement is incorrect. • Plastering concerns: Chevron Painters raised concerns regarding plastering imperfections that they considered required further rectification before they could proceed. These concerns were addressed, and no formal variation, revised scope, or written instruction was provided indicating works could not continue once rectification occurred. • Expectations: There was no change to the agreed scope or request for a higher-end finish beyond standard professional painting. No variations or revised pricing were issued. • Cessation of works and communication: Despite the above, work ceased without notice or explanation. Multiple attempts were made to contact Harry over several days with no response, which led to a formal notice requesting clarification and a revised schedule. No meaningful follow-up was received. • Alleged owner alterations: Any minor patching occurred after prolonged non-attendance and lack of communication, as the work had been left incomplete. This was not raised at the time as a reason for ceasing works, nor was any attempt made to inspect or resolve it. • On-site discussions: The claim that unrelated conversations disrupted productivity is inaccurate. Site access was provided, and delays were due to non-attendance, not interference. The key issue remains unchanged: only a base coat was completed within the agreed two-week timeframe, despite partial payment, followed by poor communication and an unexplained cessation of works. Our review reflects our experience and is based on documented facts. We stand by it.

We recently had Harry, Chris, and Amir out to mums to do a repaint. The house is quite old and required a lot of tlc to do the job right. These guys nailed it. They were punctual, professional--meticulous--and over all friendly! I would have no hesitation recommending them to anyone.
