  I went out to KGB to look at a secondhand safe, January 2026, after being told by my brother. Was greeted warmly and taken around to look at what they had to offer. After looking at New Safes I advised I was looking at a limit of $1000. This put my options in the small range and after some deliberation took some pictures of two safes. One 103kg and the other at 200kg, both in my price range and secondhand. Left it at that and called back a couple of days later on the phone to say which one I had decided on. Went in on the Saturday as their open for the morning and while I was taking measurements and getting more information on it, and gave the staff a series of photos as to where it will go, I was told that they had shown me a heavier safe when I was in earlier in the week, which I was wanting rather than the small ones. But as it had an open door on top, decided against it. Plus it was more than I could afford, as delivery costs had to be factored in. Then after some negotiation I was sold on their offer. So for the same money I decided on a 520kg Night Safe. The manager said they could remove the handle on top, weld the lid shut, and they also welded inside as an added security, and sprayed the entire safe to look like new and put in a framework to hold shelves, and all this at no extra charge. And get this, it was listed at $1600 and got it for $1000. But I didn’t offer the lower price, it was offered to me. Then for an extra $100 a new digital lock , and delivery was organised and put where I ask to put it, and that wasn’t a problem. Then bolted to concrete and told would take 1xTonne of pressure to remove it. So a long review but well worth a trip to KGB to look at security, from New to Secondhand. I strongly give this review for anybody wishing to invest in security of their personal items. Just go and see how they manage to take an old safe from late 1800’s early 1900’s and bring them back to life. Or if you just want a safe door, they get those in too.
