Replaced the battery in the car key. When the signal didn't work the young man came down to the car and recoded both sets of keys for me. How good is that. Excellent service and work.

This evening i stupidly lock my keys in my home. I am not in the best health at the moment and needless to say I was quite distressed! I contacted Lock and Key Services in Unanderra and was extremely happy with how quickly they got back to me. A young gentleman emphasising gentleman was here in less than 30 minutes. The locks are dated but effective and it was a bit tricky getting in. The gentleman’s name is Blayde and I was so impressed with his can do attitude and determination to get me back into my home. I truly and sincerely highly recommend this business with all of your lock and key needs. Blayde thank you again for everything you are a champion. Sincerely, Glenn Ibberson PS: His fees are quite reasonable.😇

There are the wrong number of stars available. Unbelievable service, professionalism, value--but as for punctuality, less than a half-hour from my phone call, the job was not only fixed but the problem was explained to me as was the solution. The whole experience was a complete joy and utter surprise. If only this service did everything--plumbing, roofing, the lot, no one would ever dread needing service again. Very pleasant manner also from everyone there.

Frequently asked questions

How much do locksmiths typically charge?
Costs vary depending on the job — a simple key cut or rekey is usually much less than emergency entry or full hardware replacement. This page shows live pricing for local providers to help you compare options. Many locksmiths charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate and materials, and after-hours or emergency work generally attracts higher rates.
Do locksmiths charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. This fee is usually separate from labour and materials and may apply even for quick or small jobs. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum charge when getting quotes.
Do locksmiths need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Locksmithing is a licensed occupation across Australia, and in NSW licences are issued by the NSW Police Force — Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED). You should expect a provider to display a valid state security licence number and to hold industry credentials such as MLAA, LGA or ASIAL membership, a Certificate III in Locksmithing, an ABN with GST registration and appropriate public liability insurance.
How do I get a quote from Lock & Key Service?
