We can't Thank Aaron enough for the design of our Japanese and Fern gardens he did for us,with the placement of different coloured pebbles & steel edging and placing of pots and the bridge and the water features, replacing the grass with beautiful gold pebbles. We have a totally different garden now.Aaron was reliable, trustworthy and always on time, Thank you again Aaron

Wow wow wow 🤩 Aaron transformed my “ jungle” out the back door to a gorgeous space. What used to be a tangle of weeds, grass and choked plants is now an open green space with selected plants, a watering system and, best of all, no weeds! My uneven gravel area with topsy turvey pavers is now an inviting space with a pathway of pavers and a fire pit. He even incorporated a lovely old watering can that had been in my family for over 80 years. I can’t say a big enough thank you to Aaron and highly recommend him to one and all.

Cannot speak highly enough of Aaron and his work - great ideas on what works well and gets it done perfectly, for a great price and in good time. Very highly recommended.

My garden is a mixture of plants and potted shrubs. Aaron’s brief was to supply and install two separate irrigation systems around my house, with both taps fitted with a timer. I did not require an expensive underground system. My new system is above ground and it did not take long to install. He arrived when he said he would and his work was done expertly. After spending years wandering around my garden hand watering, this is a welcome change. I now only have to turn on a tap and the gardens are watered for whatever length of time that I choose via the timer. Excellent!! Helen – Lindisfarne (Hobart)

Landscaping costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
