Very impressed with Rick of Stump Chompers. He responded quickly, quoted fairly, was on time. He went over and above removing 2 stumps with difficult access. Area was left tidy. No complaints.

We needed to have 2 stumps removed from our Song of India shrubs so we can plant a new garden. We had no idea the stumps would be so big and I could not physically dig them out. Rick confirmed our appointment the day before and turned up on time. He made the area safe and prevented any damage or mess with a protective screen. Rick was very approachable and his experience and knowledge shone through. He cleaned up afterwards and gave sound advice on how I could get rid of the surface roots. So even though the job was relatively small he did a great job. I thoroughly recommend him to help you with any job big or small.

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
