Jim from Sandgate Mowing was friendly, helpful and efficient. Not only did he do a great job of my lawns and edging but I found he’d also removed all the leaves and some weeds, providing an unexpected extra that tidied things up. He managed to fit me in despite it being a busy time. He also offered suggestions for how to avoid the burnt grass patches from my dogs and then later helped me to put a solution in place, again beyond what I expected.

We can quite confidently say Jim provided the best quality and friendliest service we have ever had, with anything. Jim provided us with an extremely cheap quote, and went above and beyond in cleaning up our gardens and our yard in general. It's clear to us that he takes great pride in the quality of his work and personalised service. So great was the service that we would happily pay 5 times more than quoted, and still think it would be cheap. A very knowledgeable and all round great bloke, you can count on Jim to keep your yard in good knick at an extremely reasonable price.

Sandgate Mowing! What can I say...... Exceptional craftsmanship and great custom service. We have a very tough patch of grass out the back which Jim knows all to well but keeps it the way we like it every single time. I would not think twice about recommending his service to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
