Hamish and his team did an absolutely amazing job landscaping and building a retaining wall in our backyard. From start to finish, they were professional, respectful, and just great people to work with. Communication from Hamish was always positive, nothing was ever a problem, and he always took the time to answer any questions I had throughout the process. As for the quality of the work, I was very impressed. It definitely wasn’t a straightforward job, but the end result exceeded my expectations. Hamish also went above and beyond to ensure the project was completed to a high standard and finished on time. I would highly recommend Hamish and his team, and I’ll definitely be using them again for future work

Landscaping costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
