Ian was very creative and professional when assisting us to extend our deck area to accommodate our new spa. Ian created a seamless extension and has given us so much more space to enjoy our leisure time in our spa. We highly recommend working with Bryce Landscaping.

We bought a house 2 years ago and my wife Margaret wanted to extend part of the front yard garden. At first I thought it was just so she could plant more plants and at least keep her busy (hey it’s not easy for retirees). Anyway we looked for local landscapers online and decided on Bryce Landscapes. Ian came out to evaluate what we wanted and came up with a few suggestions and conceptualised what Margaret wanted. He gave us a quote which was reasonable and straightforward. So we asked him to do the job. Well, Ian organised all the parts and started the job in good time and quickly completed the job. He worked hard and was in good humour and easy to communicate with. The result was very well styled and professionally done. I was amazed, I always felt something was missing in the front yard and after seeing the finished job I could say that this was what was missing. Although it was a relatively small job, it actually made the front of our property look complete. It was hard to believe. Well done Ian.

Ian was a one stop shop for the rebuild of our garden following our pool installation. He cultivated, planted and mulched new garden beds, repurposed old corten steel edging to create a more functional finish, relaid lawns, laid pavers and installed some additional drainage to future proof the garden from flooding. We are very happy with the results.

We have used Ian three times for different jobs and he is fabulous. Great quality, reliable, trustworthy and hard working. Cannot fault him. Highly recommend.

We couldn’t be more pleased. Ian built a block retaining wall and paved around our pool with travertine. The transformation is lovely and the workmanship is 100%.

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
