Mat from North Landscapes is a rare find. Sound training and knowledge underpin his hard work and attention to detail. Our garden came up amazing with extra work beyond scope. His quote was very fair and he put extra effort without change or complaint. He worked continuously in tropical conditions that most could not handle. His insights and suggestion added value without cost. As an experienced architect dealing with many trades in the building and landscape industry Mat performed to the very top of this industry. The NT is extremely lucky to have him and we (wife and i) have no hesitation in recommending Mat to others. He came highly recommended from a landscape architect and he went well beyond that expectation. Thanks again Matt. Henry Power Registered Architect : NT #1153 SA #3739 NSW #8602

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
