Jimmy designed a permaculture garden for food production, bird habitat and to be a beautiful place to enjoy. We wanted a design we could keep looking after as we age in place. It’s beautiful. We’ll still be enjoying it, eating from it as we become ‘ancient gardeners’. Jimmy is a pleasure to work with.

Couldn't be happier with the garden. Jimmy is fantastic- from the design, the build, the educating us, the chats, the joy he brought .. could not recommend Pacific permaculture more highly. Our tiny 30square metre courtyard has been transformed into an oasis that not only will feed us, but has encouraged bees and birds back into the inner city. Thank you Jimmy!!!!!

After using a number of services to maintain the garden at 17 Eyrie Bowrie Road I found Jimmy from Pacific Permaculture. Jimmy has done a tremendous job in making a grand old house and its garden (1 acre of lawn, orchard garden beds) look fabulous. Pacific Permaculture in my opinion are dedicated, reliable and very skilled in what they do. I have no hesitation in recommending them to help you out with your garden woes. We had Jimmy and his team transform our overgrown yard into our own little patch of paradise! We couldn’t be happier with the result. His team were so nice, respectful and had great knowledge that they were happy to share with us! I highly recommend Pacific Permaculture and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Landscaping costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do landscapers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on job type and complexity — a tidy-up is typically much less than a full makeover or structural retaining wall. Materials, labour hours, site access and any required design or engineering work usually drive the price. This page shows live pricing to help you compare current rates.
Do landscapers charge call-out fees?
Most landscapers charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the job, and this is usually separate from labour and materials. Hourly labour rates and after-hours or weekend attendance are often charged at higher rates. It’s worth confirming any minimum fees and what the call-out covers when requesting quotes.
When do landscapers need a licence in Australia?
Landscapers typically need a contractor licence or builder registration when work involves structural or building elements such as engineered retaining walls, footings or major excavation. Providers who undertake structural work will usually display a valid state contractor licence or builder registration, while smaller softscape-only jobs often do not require that registration. Check that any landscaper doing structural work holds the appropriate licence or registration.
