If my lawn had feelings, it would be writing this review itself.. Probably crying tears of joy. Before the guys showed up, my yard looked like it was auditioning for a jungle documentary. Now it looks like a golf course managed by angels with whipper snippers. They didn’t just mow, they manicured. They didn’t just edge, they engineered precision lines. The crew were on time, friendly, and even laughed at my terrible dad jokes, which honestly deserves its own 5 stars. If you want your yard to go from ugh to wow, slide into Upkeep Property Care’s DMs. Just be warned, your grass might start demanding weekly spa treatments.

Frequently asked questions

How much do handymen typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the task, its complexity and how long the job takes. Simple single-visit repairs or flatpack assembly are typically less than multi-item or specialist work that requires extra trades. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes and identify cost drivers.

Do handymen charge call-out fees?

Many handymen charge a call-out fee to attend a property, which is often separate from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance or weekend work commonly attracts higher rates. It's a good idea to confirm whether the call-out is included in the quote or charged separately.

What qualifications should I look for in a handyman?

Handymen are generally unlicensed for small jobs, so look for industry affiliations such as the Handyman and Home Maintenance Association, Housing Industry Association (HIA) membership or Master Builders involvement for larger-scope work. Check they hold an ABN, adequate public liability insurance and can provide a clear written quote separating labour and materials. For jobs that become large or high-value, confirm whether a state contractor licence or builder registration may be required.
