Mitch has done several jobs for us now and all have been completed professionally and promptly. Today he reframed and installed our office sign on the sales office after the wind had destroyed the previous frame. We recommend Mitch to anyone looking to get jobs done, big or small as they are always done professionally and in a timely manner. Mitch is a breeze to liaise with and we no doubt will call on him again in the near future. Thanks Mitch.

Mitch has just finished painting the front stairs he built so beautifully. Painting is perfection. So thrilled with how beautiful it is. Also had one of the eaves repaired. That was recently painted also. The repair to that area was simply amazing. So thrilled. It looks incredible. Mitch clears everything away. He is totally meticulous. Also had a side fence repaired. So happy with it. Cannot stop looking at it. Everything cleared away. Thank you so much. Looking forward to the (nightmare) door being replaced.

Handyman costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do handymen typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the task, its complexity and how long the job takes. Simple single-visit repairs or flatpack assembly are typically less than multi-item or specialist work that requires extra trades. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes and identify cost drivers.
Do handymen charge call-out fees?
Many handymen charge a call-out fee to attend a property, which is often separate from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance or weekend work commonly attracts higher rates. It's a good idea to confirm whether the call-out is included in the quote or charged separately.
What qualifications should I look for in a handyman?
Handymen are generally unlicensed for small jobs, so look for industry affiliations such as the Handyman and Home Maintenance Association, Housing Industry Association (HIA) membership or Master Builders involvement for larger-scope work. Check they hold an ABN, adequate public liability insurance and can provide a clear written quote separating labour and materials. For jobs that become large or high-value, confirm whether a state contractor licence or builder registration may be required.
