Chris Woodroofe is an amazing all round tradesman. He’s completed a number of very different jobs for my 90 year old mum and each one has been done perfectly. Chris’s communication is also spot on, both before and afterwards. My hat goes off to him as he’s fantastic to deal with, as I live 500 kilometres away from my mother and Chris gets along extremely well with mum 👏👏

I can’t recommend Chris highly enough! He did a fantastic job with quite a long list of odd jobs we needed done around the house. He is an excellent communicator, friendly and polite, turns up when he says he will and really takes the time to perform the jobs with care and to the highest standard. Thanks Chris!

Very highly recommended: Chris Woodroffe from Hire a Hubby did an excellent job helping us fix a few things around our property. He replaced the muddy lawn strip in the driveway with crushed rock, painted the picket fence, fixed a dislodged back fence post, levelled dips in the front lawn and regrew lawn from seeds, replaced and painted a rotten window, fixed a cabinet, killed wild blackberry invasion on the property, disposed of rubbish from inside the house and around the property including plants, pots, bricks, furniture, and household rubbish, and he organised spring cleaning of the property. His pricing was very reasonable, he was on time to every appointment he made, he has an eye for detail, and he provided very useful advice. I highly recommend him.

Frequently asked questions

How much do handymen typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the task, its complexity and how long the job takes. Simple single-visit repairs or flatpack assembly are typically less than multi-item or specialist work that requires extra trades. This page shows live pricing to help you compare quotes and identify cost drivers.
Do handymen charge call-out fees?
Many handymen charge a call-out fee to attend a property, which is often separate from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance or weekend work commonly attracts higher rates. It's a good idea to confirm whether the call-out is included in the quote or charged separately.
What qualifications should I look for in a handyman?
Handymen are generally unlicensed for small jobs, so look for industry affiliations such as the Handyman and Home Maintenance Association, Housing Industry Association (HIA) membership or Master Builders involvement for larger-scope work. Check they hold an ABN, adequate public liability insurance and can provide a clear written quote separating labour and materials. For jobs that become large or high-value, confirm whether a state contractor licence or builder registration may be required.
How do I get a quote from Hire A Hubby Boronia?
Hire A Hubby Boronia lists email or through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
