Brian's been a great help to us. The first time he came, he replaced our motor due to a damaged sprocket and did an overall service on the garage door. It felt like we had a new door afterwards. In the second time, I thought that the motor was faulty but he came soon after and explained that it was the mechanics and components of the garage door from the original and explained how to better maintain the door for future use. Greatly recommended, great service. Thanks to Brian and the team

Brian and Adam went above and beyond to help us with our garage door. Not only were they the only company that tried to save us money they were honest and professional (which is rare these days). Coming from a strong background in sales and customer service I highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to call them again. Overall 10/10 for service/customers service and price. Thanks again guys. Michelle Taren Point

I have found Brian to be very helpful and friendly. I've had to use him twice for repairs on our garage door and both occasions he's been great. Highly recommend him.

Unbelievable service. Bill arrived on time as promised. Although, it was originally just for a service call out, I decided to replace the motor to which he had on hand. A++ service - he had the motor ready and replaced it within a short time period. Will recommend this company to others. Great job!!

Frequently asked questions

How much do garage door installers typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the job type and parts required. Simple on-site repairs are usually less than full door installations or motor replacements, and jobs that need structural work or specialised finishes generally cost more. Most quotes combine a call-out fee with labour time and materials, and the page shows live pricing for your area.
Do garage door installers charge call-out fees?
Yes — call-out fees are common and cover the initial attendance and assessment. The rate card indicates a call-out charge is typically applied in addition to hourly labour and parts. After-hours or emergency attendance often attracts higher hourly rates or a multiplier.
What qualifications should I look for in a garage door installer?
While a formal licence is not required for this trade, look for industry memberships and credentials such as AGDA membership, DASMA affiliation or HIA association, plus an active ABN and adequate public liability insurance. It’s also sensible to check for compliance with relevant Australian Standards, such as AS 5740:2020 for automatic controls and AS 1170.2 for cyclonic-rated doors where applicable.
How do I get a quote from Direct Garage Repairs?
Direct Garage Repairs lists through their website on this profile, so you can contact them directly for pricing and availability. Share a short scope and photos to get a faster quote.
