Pete and the team did a fantastic job bringing old and tired looking floorboards to life. End result is amazing. Completely transformed the house and stairs. Reliable and friendly. Quality assured.

Peter from Sandscan just sanded and finished our engineered floorboards and we are happy with the result. Because of Peter’s deft touch and choice to use non-toxic products, our floors now feel soft and warm underfoot and our place smells like timber, instead of yucky chemicals. The floors look a million times better than they did before, with all the holes and scratches removed. We found Peter trustworthy and pleasant to deal with. Communication could be improved; I found it difficult and I felt frustrated at times. Communication with Peter is definitely easier in person, so we got there in the end. He is an expert in his field and his extensive experience really sets your mind at ease. His pricing is reasonable and he works to a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction, which I very much appreciated. I recommend Peter and Sandscan!

Very happy with our floors. Peter was able to recommend a product that suited our family (kids and dog) and the look we were after. The floors are over a year old and still look great.

Peter recently redid our floorboards in our home and they have come up an absolute treat! We are so thrilled with the end result. Pete was honest with what he thought would best suit the space and upfront with suggestions and costs. All work was completed within the time frame outlined and Pete's personable approach was valued and appreciated. I would highly recommend reaching out to Sandscan with any flooring related works!

Peter and his team were very professional and did a beautiful job with our floors - even with our kitchen floor that had significant water damage! Would definitely recommend

Frequently asked questions

How much do flooring specialists typically charge?
Costs for flooring work typically vary widely depending on the type of job, the total area, material quality and the condition of the subfloor. Simple repairs or small installs are generally less than full removals, levelling or sand-and-polish jobs. The page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do flooring specialists charge call-out fees?
Many flooring specialists charge a call-out fee to attend and assess the work, with separate charges for hourly labour and materials. After-hours or emergency attendance often attracts higher rates. It's a good idea to confirm any call-out and after-hours charges when requesting quotes.
When do flooring specialists need a licence?
Requirements vary by state and the scope of work; some floor finishing and covering work requires registration or a building licence. For example, Victoria lists Domestic Builder (Floor Finishing and Covering) registration on the BPC register, and Queensland uses QBCC Floor Finishing and Covering (Hard Sector) licences. Check the relevant state building regulator or licensing register for your area.
