Ethan sorted out an old Spanline extension that had leaked from the day it was built. Excellent communication and very quick to get the problem sorted out with an cost effective solution. He really stressed at the end of the job to call him if we had any further problems, which gives us confidence in his work. He was recommended by a local Real Estate agent familiar with his work, so obviously has a great reputation. Would happily work with him again and recommend his work. Thanks to Ethan and team.

Ethan is a great communicator who always did what he promised on our family room build, when he promised it. Such a refreshing change from the norm! The result was beyond 5 star. We're delighted!

Frequently asked questions

How much do deck builders typically charge?

Deck building costs vary widely depending on the type of job and how complex it is. Small repairs or a simple refinish are generally much less than a full new deck or work that requires structural repairs. The prices shown on this page are live and can help you compare quotes and understand likely costs.

Do deck builders charge call-out fees?

Many deck builders charge a call-out or minimum attendance fee to assess the site, which is usually separate from labour and materials. After-hours or emergency attendance is often charged at a higher rate. It's worth confirming any call-out or minimum fees when you request a quote.

Do deck builders need a licence in Australia?

Yes — deck builders generally need a contractor licence or registration to carry out building work in all states and territories. In NSW the key authority is the NSW Building Commission (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect a builder to provide their licence or registration number, hold public liability insurance and display relevant industry credentials such as association membership and a White Card.
