New Driveway It is amazing how much difference a new driveway can make to the appearance of your home. It is a big expense, and you only get one chance to get it right. Phil from Al-Rob has probably been concreting for over forty years, and when he quotes a job those years of experience mean he gets it right the first time. I would have no hesitation recommending Phil, Shane and their team to anybody looking for expert concrete work at a fair price. I was particularly happy with the new drain the guys put along the lowest point in the driveway, vastly improving storm water run-off. Thanks, guys! John and Karen Crawford

Phil & Shane were friendly, courteous and easy to deal with. They were happy to answer any question we had about the work. They replaced our old pressed concrete driveway & path with exposed aggregate concrete at a reasonable price. The new driveway & path look fantastic. Great job team Al-Rob.

We’ve used Al-Rob Concreting several times over many years and I have to say they are a very professional, courteous and easy to deal with trade. We had a slate impression driveway laid at our old house that has lasted really well for many years with no cracking or loss of colour. Our new house has a exposed aggregate driveway and paving that looks fantastic! Thank you Phil, Shane and all at AlRob.

Phil, Shane and Scott did a fantastic job of exposed aggregate concrete on our pergola floor. I was also impressed with the clean up. I would gladly recommend them to all.

Frequently asked questions

How much do concreters typically charge?
Costs vary widely depending on the type of job, its size, site access and whether demolition or disposal is required. This page shows live pricing for your area; most concreters typically combine a call-out fee with an hourly labour rate plus materials, and after-hours work usually attracts higher rates.
Do concreters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and usually cover travel and the initial assessment. That fee is generally separate from hourly labour and materials, and you may see higher charges for after-hours or emergency attendance.
Do concreters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Concreting for residential building work generally requires a licensed contractor across Australian states and territories; in NSW licences are issued by the Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state contractor licence, an ABN with active GST registration and evidence of public liability insurance.
