Aaron was fantastic to work with. I had several extensive jobs around my house that I needed done, including a complete demo and rebuild of my front patio. I appreciated that Aaron was very aware that I had a tight budget and he was willing to work through numerous options with me that would not only fit my budget, but give me my desired outcome. His communication was excellent. He walked me through everything he had done/doing on a daily basis. I also really appreciated that Aaron was willing to work on my timeline. He never rushed me into any of my projects, instead, he understood that I would move forward with each project when I was comfortable with all aspects particularly around finances. I would absolutely recommend Mountain Ash Carpentry for any job no matter how big or small. Thanks Aaron for making my projects such a pain free and enjoyable experience :)

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
