A consummate craftsman who takes pride in his work right down to the smallest detail. Corbin showed up on time (in fact earlier than scheduled to begin the job to finish sooner than we planned), provided his expertise clearly, priced up our job competitively and worked very hard non-stop to deliver something very special that we’ve been wanting to do for over a decade and a half. We are extremely happy with the finished deck and quality of work. You are in good hands with Wood Work Ideas and can be assured a very high standard of work will be delivered. Thanks Corbin!

Corbin recently sanded, repaired and re-coated our deck and it looks amazing. We had added a ramp section that was made from different timber so it didn't match, now it all looks as one. Corbin is a lovely guy, very professional, friendly, easy and quick with communication and he gave good advice. His quote was very fair in comparison to other quotes. We would highly recommend his work and him as a person and would definitely use him again. Thanks Corbin

Corbin did a fantastic job on our back deck sanding it back and reoiling it. It looks good as new. He was very professional to deal with, and did tidy work too.

Carpentry costs & guides

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
Does Would Work Ideas have a verified ABN?
Yes. Would Work Ideas has completed ABN verification on SureQuote.
