We have used Sam on various stages of a complete home rebuild on a steep block. This included exterior replacement and realignments , decking extensions, roof, flyover, carport etc. Sam and his team were excellent. They kept a tidy site, and their quality of workmanship was excellent. Sam and his team were very easy to deal with. We will use Sam and his team again and happy to recommend Sam for any building and construction projects. Regards Paul Girdler

Sam completed some work on my unit recently. He was great to deal with - good communication and nothing was too much trouble. He has a great eye for detail and was really efficient and fair price.

They built a front and side deck surrounding our house. I'm happy with the quality and price of the work completed.

Frequently asked questions

How much do carpenters typically charge?
Carpentry costs vary widely depending on the job. Simple trim or door hanging is usually less than internal framing, small outdoor structures or timber repairs that require more labour and materials. Most carpenters charge a call-out fee plus an hourly labour rate, with after-hours work attracting higher rates; this page shows live local pricing to help you compare quotes.
Do carpenters charge call-out fees?
Call-out fees are common and typically cover travel and the initial assessment. These fees are usually charged separately from hourly labour and materials. After-hours attendance is often charged at a higher rate, so confirm any call-out or minimum fees when requesting quotes.
Do carpenters need a licence in Australia?
Yes. Carpentry work is generally required to be carried out by a licensed tradesperson in every Australian state and territory. In NSW, licences are administered by Building Commission NSW (formerly NSW Fair Trading). You should expect providers to display a valid state building or trade licence on quotes and advertising, and to hold an ABN, public liability insurance and industry memberships such as HIA or Master Builders.
How do I get a quote from Coolangatta Carpentry and Building?
