From the first time we spoke to Shane on the phone we felt we would be in good hands if he was in charge of our new kitchen build, and we were right! Shane was very patient with our questions and confirming things along the way, and a calming influence during what can be a stressful time. All the Metro Kitchen workmen who came to install our new kitchen were friendly and helpful, as was Tania in the showroom. We have lived with our new kitchen now for several months, and are very happy with our lovely deep, soft close drawers, the ease of use, and having a place for everything. We would have no hesitation in recommending Metro Kitchens.

Metro kitchens did an amazing facelift on my kitchen! It was a true team effort- from my initial consultation with Greg, to the installation by Marc, and the professional oversight by company owner Shane. Everyone was extremely courteous and professional throughout the entire process. They did a beautiful job, and my kitchen now feels brand new- all at a very reasonable cost. I love my kitchen. Thank you so much Metro Kitchens!

We had a great experience with Metro Kitchens. They came when they said they would and the old kitchen was removed and the new installed in a very short amount of time. The price was very reasonable in this day and age when costs can blow out, however, we wanted quality at an affordable price and that is exactly what we got. Very happy with the result.

The team at Metro Kitchen’s were great from the design, knockout and through to install. It was great to have everything organised by them for the plumbing, electrics, plastering and tiler. They worked fast and cleaned up after themselves too! Very glad I worked with them to get my ideal kitchen and laundry.

My new kitchen is a dream come true. The first contact with Greg assured me that I have chosen the right company. Everything was explained and Greg’s ideas were fantastic. Shane is very helpful. I added a few extra things to the original quote and he was so obliging to accommodate my wishes. The trades all arrived on time, and left my house clean. Brett and Trevor were both so professional in the installation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to any family or friends Thank you Metro Kitchens. Joanne

Frequently asked questions

How much do cabinet makers typically charge?

Costs vary widely depending on the job type, size, materials and complexity, and whether on‑site fabrication or after‑hours attendance is required. The prices shown on this page update live and reflect typical call‑out and labour charges plus materials. Simple repairs are generally much less than full kitchen or built‑in installations.

Do cabinet makers charge call-out fees?

Many cabinet makers charge a call‑out fee to attend and assess a job, which is usually separate from labour and materials. After‑hours or emergency attendance is often charged at a higher rate. Check each quote to see whether a call‑out fee is included or listed separately.

When do cabinet makers need a licence?

Some states expect cabinet makers to hold contractor registration or a valid licence, and providers in NSW, VIC, QLD and SA commonly display state contractor registration on quotes and advertising. Requirements vary by state, so check your local state regulator for the exact rules that apply to your job.
