Pro-fit cabinetmaking in Cairns provided a flat pack kitchen for my family and we are so happy with it. Their service and products are outstanding. I recently completed bedroom and laundry renovations using PRO-fit Cabinetmaking and tried both their service options - Supply Only (Self Install) and Full-Service (Measure, Supply, Install). Here's my detailed experience with both: * Supply Only - Self Install (Laundry Renovation) * I chose the Supply Only option for my laundry renovation. The entire process took about 3 months from placing the order until I could pick up the flatpack in my ute. The online ordering system was excellent - I could see the cost of each piece and adjust on the fly to manage my budget. When I did get confused with a few aspects of the order, Gary from Pro-Fit was incredibly helpful and took the time to sit down with me to correct any mistakes I'd overlooked before finalising everything. All pieces arrived neatly packed on a pallet with clear labeling showing each component's corresponding position. The construction guides on their website were fairly good and helped me understand their technique. All components are high quality with excellent fittings. As someone experienced with renovations but new to cabinetry installation, I found the solo install quite challenging. I had to ask my neighbour for help multiple times to lift and hold pieces in place. The small laundry job took me 3-4 days to complete. For anyone considering DIY, you'll need substantial tools: 2-3 good drills, planer, sander, chisels, router, circular saw, drop saw, jig saw, various drill bits, screwdrivers, painters tape, wood glue, sealant gun and sealant, laser measure, tape measure, ruler, and square. Cost: Around $3,500 * Full-Service (3 Bedroom Renovation) * For the major bedroom renovations, I went with Full-Service since the design and construction were beyond my abilities and the website's ordering system. Having done the laundry myself first gave me a real appreciation for the construction difficulty, making the Full-Service option definitely worth the extra cost in terms of time and stress saved. The entire process took about 12 months from submitting my original designs to complete installation. Gary was fantastic throughout - we had a couple of face-to-face discussions during design process that helped clarify any miscommunications, though most communication was efficiently handled via email and text. The payment structure was well organised with 4 payments spread throughout the year as each stage was completed. There were two site visits to ensure accurate measurements. Gary showed incredible patience with my meticulous nature and never seemed fazed by anything I threw at him (thanks mate!). While the install took longer than expected, it was completed to an exceptionally high standard. Cost: Around $42,500 * Overall Experience * PRO-fit Cabinetmaking offers quality products and professional service whether you choose DIY or full-service. Gary's expertise and patience made both projects successful. The flexibility to choose your service level based on project complexity and personal capabilities is a real advantage. Highly recommended for anyone considering cabinetry work. Would definitely use them again for future projects!

Paul, Taylah, and the pro-fit team were absolutely amazing to deal with. 100% recommend this Cairns family business. They went above and beyond to help us repair all the cabinetry we lost in the Dec 2023 floods.

These guys did an incredible job transforming our kitchen. Great to deal with from start to finish. Our kitchen was recently done by Pro-Fit Cabinet making. I am so impressed with their customer service and the overall quality of the product. Right from the beginning the process was smooth and easy, Paul and Gary were very professional, always met deadlines and went beyond to ensure we were happy and everything fitted nicely. The kitchen just looks awesome. We also had custom-made cupboards made for children's bedroom and they look awesome. Thanks to the team at Pro-Fit for designing and fitting our new kitchen. Gary did a great job of designing a kitchen that fit in all the features we wanted into a small space, we were unsure of some ideas to begin with as it was different from what we were used to. We went with Gary's layout and ideas and are very glad we did! Luke came to fit our kitchen, His workmanship and attention to detail was great and worked in with other trades during the renovation well. Pro-fit came recommended to me and I highly recommend them as well. Not only great service and products but reasonable price as well.
