I wanted to share our recent experience building with Unique Constructions to build our custom-designed new home. We highly recommend Unique Constructions to anyone looking to build a quality home. Our experience with Unique Constructions has been exceptional. Mark and Sharna’s in-depth knowledge of construction and also design, made difficult decisions easy. Their guidance and recommendations took much of what would be a stressful process, away. We couldn't be happier with the results! From the initial planning and designing stages right through to the finishing touches, the entire process was seamless and stress-free. Mark and Sharna were professional, attentive, fun and committed to bringing our vision to life. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in every aspect of the build are exceptional. The quality of materials used and the meticulous construction have exceeded our expectations. This was due to the insane attention to detail that Mark and the team had. At no stage throughout the build did we experience any unexpected “surprises” as we were kept updated and aware of the costs of any additions or alterations. Especially as I was always pushing the budget out! Oops, sorry Sharna! Lol! 😉 It truly was a great experience from start to finish, and not once did we feel like just another client, so much so that we have told Mark and Sharna that we are happy for them to bring any future clients through our home to see first-hand the exceptional build quality. Being a local family business with a great reputation also gave us confidence that we chose the right people to build our home. We are absolutely delighted with our new home and the design and build process could not have been smoother. Should we ever decide to leave this beautiful home and build again, without any hesitation, Unique Constructions is the only company that we would ever build with. We live in Melbourne and bought land in Clifton Beach to build our dream retirement house. Our plans were drawn up, but we were concerned about building a home so far away. We had heard many stories about builders shutting down and leaving their clients stranded, as well as other builders who clearly could not be trusted. We did a lot of research and finally got down to a short list of four contractors in the Cairns area. One of these was Unique Construction. When I called, Sharna answered straight away. We discussed our plans and expectations and I was impressed on how Sharna answered every question and explained the step-by-step process of building with Unique Constructions. After Sharna and Mark had looked over our design, they called me back and explained a few things were not technically correct, including the roof and several other factors which needed correction. I came away from those discussions confident we had found a builder who was open, approachable and available. Still, I sent our plans to three builders, including Unique Constructions, seeking quotations. Price was an important factor, but high quality of design and construction was essential. Out of three quotations, Unique Constructions were very competitive on both quality and price. I travelled to Cairns to meet Sharna and soft-spoken Mark, who outlined all the details before we signed the contract and work started soon after. Throughout the building project, we found Mark to be very well organized and a great communicator. Unfortunately, heavy rain in January and February caused some delays, but Mark kept us completely up to date and, along with his army of tradespeople, still managed to finish our project on time. Even when I made some late changes, such as extending the pool size after the excavations had been done, Mark met our needs without any hesitation. Now our dream home is complete and it is everything we wished for and I have no hesitation in recommending Unique Constructions to anyone who is planning to build.

When Suzanne and I finally found the right block in Palm Cove to build our holiday home, we needed to find the right builders. As we were interstate and hoping to manage it all remotely, there was even more incentive to find a team that could make this all happen. Wow! Boy did we hit the jackpot with Mark and Sharna at Unique constructions. From the first initial chat we had with Sharna there was sense that this was a journey that they would make easy for us. Every step of the way from discussing plans through to the various finishes, we were part of the build. I first met Mark at one of his display homes in Argentea Estate in Palm Cove in early 2020. I was impressed by the quality of the build of this home and more importantly Mark’s approachable and pragmatic manner. As a smaller builder than many of the big local businesses, we wanted someone who was hands on in supervising the build and was the owner of the business. The fact he was happy to work with my thoughts and designs for our new home in Palm Cove was a real plus. So, we engaged Mark and Sharna. What a great team they proved to be! At the completion of our build and since moving in – in May 2021, we are delighted with our new home and the advice, service and support from both Mark and Sharna, before, during and after the build. Everyone who visits us comments on the quality of our home.
